Favourite Lip Combo #1- Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat and Bourjois Rouge Edition

I have to say, it's not very often that I would be obsessed with a lip liner/lipstick combo, particularly where the lip liner was twice the price of the lipstick! I was never mad for the lip liners unless I was wearing a red lip, but thanks to some coldsore patches that have left the contour of my bottom lip looking a little uneven, I've been having to rectify the situation with lip pencil. One of my favourite lip pencils EVER is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk- this pencil is the gift that keeps on giving in all honesty- and I don't say that lightly. It's quite similar to my own lip colour to look natural enough to wear with pretty much any other lip colour, and this always makes me feel like I have big plump lips a la Kylie. It's not too slippy and soft but doesn't drag along your lips, it doesn't need sharpening every time you use it. I do wish it wasn't €22 but I can live with it because I love it and it does miraculous things for the kissers.

I pair Pillow Talk with lots of different lipsticks but one lipstick that I think THE perfect match is the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in Shade 04 Rose Tweed- a gorgeous, muted rosey pink. I adore this colour- it's demure and classy, perfect with a smokey eye and one of my favourite work lips. The lipstick is so comfortable to wear on the lips, creamy to apply and lasts for a couple of hours before needing to be topped up. I am on my second one of these lipsticks and if you were to tell me that Bourjois were discontinuing this colour, I would make it my mission to buy all the remaining stock in Dublin- yes, that is how much I love this.

In recent months, these two products have been in constant rotation in my makeup bag and I keep reaching for them over and over again. I love them individually too, but together, they make my heart skip a beat. If you have one or both in your collection, I urge you to root them both out and give them a whirl.

    1. Thank you Yav :) x I have to say- and this might not be the most popular sentiment- but for the most part, I've been quite underwhelmed by the CT products I have tried so far. I have a few eyeshadow quads that are just ok. the Filmstar Bronze and Glow which is fine, my Swish and Pop blush broke mysteriously, I've an eyeshadow pencil I'm not struck on at all- I think they are all nice but I'm not swept away by the hype yet! I know I'm in the minority though!

  2. Ah brilliant, I have both of these but never thought of putting them together! Can I ask do you use a standard sharpener for the liner or a special one? I need to sharpen mine but don't want to muck it up.

    1. Oh try them together Sharon, they are the bee's knees in my eyes, and do let me know how you get on with them. I use a regular double pencil sharpener that I picked up from NYX years ago- just a bog standard one- works a treat. The pencil is so soft on the lips but yet doesn't melt in the sharpener. Go forth and pare! :) xx
