Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Starter Bundle Kit w/ exclusive Z Palette- Review and Swatches

Who hasn't heard of Makeup Geek eyeshadows by now? And how silly am I that I only picked up my first set of Makeup Geek eyeshadows about two months ago? I've been a fan of Marlena a.k.a. Makeup Geek on Youtube for ages now and I have meant to go to the website and pick some out but every time I did, I just got overwhelmed with the colours and never actually got to the checkout phase. I'd been waiting for the Starter Kit to come back in stock for the longest time. Well I set up an email alert to let me know when the Starter Kit did come back in stock and I ended up picking up the Starter Bundle Kit with the exclusive Makeup Geek Chevron Z-Palette because the rose gold appealed to me. The total cost was $61.99 excluding delivery and if you are interested in this kit, click this link to buy one of your own!

The reason I got the Starter Bundle kit is twofold- firstly, all the colours are neutral and all of them appealed to me, Secondly, I just couldn't pick the colours out myself and spent so many hours going through the Makeup Geek website but never actually nailing the colours that I actually wanted to buy that I thought that this might be an easier and less stressful option PLUS I loved the look of the rose gold Z palette and it was more economical to get them all together in that bundle. You have to admit $62 for 9 eyeshadow pans and a Z palette was pretty good going!

I kind of wanted not to love these eyeshadows as much as everyone else because everyone else in the blogosphere seems to love them because everyone just raves about these, but hand on my heart, these are exquisite eyeshadows without a doubt. Amazing pigmentation between the mattes and the shimmers, great colour payoff, amazingly blendable, so soft and easy to apply, so easy to build, no fallout. These are possibly my favourite eyeshadows EVER, and it's such a pain that we can only get them from the Makeup Geek website. Speaking of Makeup Geek website, I must point out that I was charged customs duties on these to the tune of a scandalous €18 something which somewhat killed my Makeup Geek buzz before I even got these shadows but even with the extra €18 added on to the purchase price, these are seriously amazing eyeshadows. I do not have enough nice things to say about them, and I have nothing even remotely negative to report, so without further ado, I will show you the colours and swatches that I picked out.

My favourite combinatons to date are Shimma Shimma on the lid and Unexpected in the crease, Prom Night as a wash of colour all over the lid, but I've definitely used every colour at least once and I can't actually say that about too many palettes I own. I have a feeling we are going to get on famously.

Have you bitten the Makeup Geek cherry yet? Does this kit look like something that might appeal to you? And if you are a fan of Makeup Geek already, please let me know what shadows I should pick up next time I visit the Makeup Geek website :)
