Blank Canvas Cosmetics Felt Tip Eyeliners - Borderlines and Winging It- Review

I am good at lots of things- I'm good at drafting legal documents, I'm a great reverse parker, I make a mean pizza from scratch and I'm awesome at keeping secrets. However, I am also NOT good at many things, and right at the top of that list is eyeliner. Applying it in any way, shape or form baffles me, and I really need the most foolproof liners on the market. Historically, I have not gotten on well with felt tip eyeliners because, along with liquid, I find that these are the most unforgiving and hardest to master for the nervous wreck breed of eyeliner appliers like myself. When the new Blank Canvas Cosmetics liners landed on my desk, I didn't know whether to fistpump or whether to cry.

Blank Canvas Cosmetics have recently added two new felt tip, paraben free eyeliner pens to their vast collection of quality cosmetics and brushes. The first, Borderlines, is an extreme black, long lasting regular eyeliner pen, whereas the second, Winging it, has a longer thinner nib than his brother as you can see below.

No offence to the product, but I did not have high hopes for these, mostly due to my (a) incompetence at applying felt tip eyeliner to mah lids and (b) my history with poorly pigmented, not long lasting colour. But you know, there is little sweeter as a makeup obsessive than being proven wrong and discovering a new beaut of a product despite not having high hopes for whatever reason is so deeply satisfying. I have used both of these eyeliners consistently over the last few weeks and they have become part of my daily routine.

Borderlines is the darkest, blackest, most pigmented felt tip eyeliner pen that I have come across EVER. Seriously, it is like tattoo, once it sets, it does not budge for the day until you take it off with a decent makeup remover in the evening. I can attest to the fact that this lasts perfectly on the eyelids for up to 20 hours- I kid you not- and it looked as good as it did when I first applied it that morning still. That said, my personal favourite between the two has to be Winging It- the long, thin nib on this makes it a dream for gliding along your lash line and this is the easiest eyeliner ever in the world to create a flick with- Benefit's They're Real Push Up Gel Liner has nothing on Winging It, and I really liked the Benefit offering until I tried the latest Blank Canvas Cosmetics

As you can see from the swatches above, Winging it on the left gives you a lovely thin line whereas Borderlines on the right is an intense black, thicker line.
I highly, highly recommend you give these a whirl if you are in the market for some new eyeliner action- I honestly cannot fault them in any way and that's a big statement coming from me with all my terrible eyeliner experiences under my belt. They are currently available on the Blank Canvas Cosmetics website for €9.99 a piece.

Have you tried these yet? Do they sound like the answer to your eyeliner prayers?

  1. I have never heard of this brand Aisling but I am obsessed with wings on my eyeliner so I will defo try these out. My fave is Rimmel exaggerate. You just can't beat it in my opinion. I've tried loads of expensive ones but always go back to the Rimmel. I will defo give this brand a shot on your recommendation. x

  2. Great post, will defoes check them out, I'm partial to a loreal liner but between myself and 18 year old daughter who is a master with a winged line will give them a try!

Thanks for your comment, I love to hear what you all have to say!
