GOSH Prime & Refresh Illuminating Eye Roll On- Review

My undereyes are a huge problem area for me. The area under my eyes is incredibly dry and more often than not, I have dark undereye circles that need lashings of concealer to make me look human and not like some polar bear/woman hybrid. I picked up this product over a month ago because I was attracted to the three little metal balls at the end and when I swatched it in store, I swear my hand felt instantly cooler. I parted with €10.99 and this became mine!

It's a very simple premise- you squeeze the tube and the product comes out from under the three little balls and you use those little balls to distribute the product around your eyes- under your brow bone, on your eyelid and along your undereye area- the little balls also massage the area. The actual product itself as you can see below is quite a thin, moisturising consistency and is ever so slightly pink tinted to combat any darkness. I use the balls to distribute the product, and they do feel cooling and gentle on the eye area (even when you have the most sensitive eyes known to man like me).

I use this product in the mornings after I apply my day cream and eye cream but before I apply my makeup and concealer under my eyes. I concentrate mostly on my undereye area- as I said, it's a problem area for me- my skin is dull, my undereyes are quite dark and the general area is permanently parched to the point where foundations and concealers don't sit well and crease slightly under my eye. I use expensive moisturising eye creams and I have been using said eye creams since my 20th birthday but getting my makeup to last in my undereye area is a permanent quest for me.

This Gosh offering has been an absolute gift, and I have noticed that my concealer in particular around my undereye area both applies better and lasts better than it did before I started using this primer. It's pleasant to apply, it preps the area for further product and it helps to keep everything tight and bright AND it cools and hydrates your entire eye area, plus it's friendly on the pocket! What's not to love!

I would not use this in the place of an eye cream but that's not what this product is intended for. I'm not the best to wear primer under my foundation but it never really occurred to me to try an undereye primer, but I am glad I took the punt with this product and I have no qualms in recommending it. If you, like me, are permanently bugged by undereye circles and makeup not lasting well on your undereye area, I strongly recommend you give this a try. It's available to purchase online from the Gosh Ireland website or in your local Gosh stockist- McCabes, Sam McCauleys etc.

Does this sound like something you would like to try?

  1. This sounds great, I sometimes have trouble with my under-eye concealer creasing but, like you have never thought of a primer for it. I might just have to check this out next time I put my (too frequent) Superdrug order in :)
