My heart is giddy with glee to get the opportunity to show you all today the most beautiful drugstore/pharmacy eyeshadows on the market at the minute- the (mouthful that is) L'Oréal Color Riche L'Ombre Pure eyeshadows. I don't know for sure how long these have been out on shelves but I picked up my first two over a month ago, and I have been slowly supplementing my collection ever since (and honestly, I am by no means finished, and I love one colour so much I accidentally bought it twice!) These are absolutely fantastic- dare I say it, amongst the very best eyeshadows I have ever tried EVER. I will elaborate.
These come in an array of different colours and finishes- but luckily for me, there were alot of various neutral colours and finishes from matte, frost and satin. They come in a variety of mini ranges also- Nude, Smoky, Matte, Lumiere, Chameleon. What makes these extraordinary is the deliciously butter gel infused formula, if you have ever tried the L'Oreal pressed pigment eyeshadows, these are like them, but without the messy powderiness. Even the matte shadows do not have a hint of chalkiness about them and you all know how rare that is. Not only do these eyeshadows apply like a dream with any brush or even your fingers if you're stuck, but they last incredibly well on the lids and I have worn these upwards of 14 hours without any creasing or fading over the course of the day. You can easily build up the intensity of these, particularly the metallic ones, they can be built up to a foil effect look which is just awesome for a pharmacy eyeshadow! Also, have you seen the decorative detailing on Quartz Fumé- does that remind you of a certain series of MAC eyeshadows with similar embossing?
These eyeshadows definitely rival the likes of Urban Decay and MAC in my mind, and if you don't want to just take my word for it, have a look at the swatches below to spy the buttery blendable loveliness. Now word to the wise, the actual displays and colour options vary quite drastically from pharmacy to pharmacy, and the best display and shade selection that I have come across is in Boots in Jervis Shopping Centre. The pricing of these also varies- from €8.39 a piece in Boots (watch out, make sure that they don't charge €8.99 on your receipt- Boots are in my bad books at the moment for consistently charging higher prices than what was displayed on the shelves) or if you go to a smaller pharmacy, you might be able to pick these up for €7.99 each, and my local pharmacy is doing 33% off making them just €5.35 each which is honestly just daylight robbery for the quality of the shadows that you are getting.
The black and gold packaging is chic and the little flip top lids are handy because they are probably not going to get lost anytime soon! The packaging and the product both looks and feels much more expensive that the couple of euros you put down for these. I would strongly advise you all to go to out and buy just one of these (and there's a 3 for 2 on L'Oreal in Boots at the moment to enable you further) and you will get hooked on them.
I am definitely definitely going to keep building my collection so if any of you have any shade recommendations, please let me know in the comments below. Will you be picking up any of these?
