I'm absolutely paranoid about getting deep crevasses under my eyes. I have noticed in the last few years that my undereye area has become a little "looser" than the rest of my skin and I am hellbent on keeping my undereye area as moisturised and hydrated as possible. If undereye wrinkles are genetic, then I might be doomed, and if genes are not on my side, then science has to be. I'm always trying new eyecreams and I was delighted to find this cream in my #sbbcwrapupparty goodie bag. I've been putting it through its paces over the last month.
I applied this cream every morning before I applied any undereye concealer and it feels very silky on the skin. It's not a completely matte finish but it's not oily either, and my concealer sets nicely over it (my undereye concealer of choice for the last month has been Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer and I applied this with my Real Techniques Crease Brush). I was away for a weekend and I forgot to bring some concealer so I mixed a little bit of this with my foundation and applied it and not only did I get great coverage, there was also an extra moisture boost. I love the packaging of this- it's simplistic- but the little squeezy tube and nozzle are far more hygenic than the little glass pots that eye creams normally come in- I mean who seriously wants bacteria on the most delicate skin on their face?! Not me not I!
Ziaja say that this eye cream "strengthens the collagen and elastine fibers", "effectively smoothes the wrinkles", "perfectly moisturizes the epidermis and accelerates its regeneration" and "prevents loss of firmness". If you weren't impressed enough with these claims, this is also a hypoallergenic product, dermatologically tested under ophthalmologist control. The icing on the cake has to be that the special formula "reduces migration risk of product's ingredients to the conjunctival sack."
This eye cream is aimed for the over 30s amongst us, but I have been using eye creams and anti wrinkle/ non aging lotions and potions since my 21st birthday because I have wanted to keep the aging at bay. Even though I am still years off the big 3-0, I have felt the benefits of this cream. I have extremely sensitive eyes, and this has caused me no irritation whatsoever so if that is something that you are worried about, I can assure you that I haven't experienced any burning or sensitivity when using this. I wear contact lenses 7 days a week and I have experienced sensitivity before so I know that personally this is something I always look out for.
Now onto the price- this 15ml tube of eye cream will set you back €6.49. I would never recommend something just because it is inexpensive or because it was gifted to me in a goodie bag for consideration of review but I will recommend something if I have been genuinely impressed and would repurchase it myself. I was very impressed with this eyecream and if you are looking for something to pamper under your peepers, pop into a pharmacy that stock Ziaja skincare or get yourself onto Original Beauty (CLICK HERE FOR DIRECT LINK) and pick yourself up one of these bad boys. Your undereyes will only thank you for it!!
I'm definitely looking forward to trying out more Ziaja skincare in the near future so keep your eyes on the blog for more reviews! If you have any Ziaja must-have products, please let me know in the comments below.
