(L-R: Purple Velvet, Slate, Black Bean, Milk, Dark Brown, Pots & Pans)
You know you are a makeup junkie when you completely forget about products and find hidden treasures in your collection that had totally slipped your mind. I am ashamed to say that I completely forgot about this NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils that I purchased well over a year ago. I came across these pencils about two weeks ago and I used Purple Velvet as a base for a purple smoky eye, and I remembered how much I loved this, and how they did not deserve to be neglected.
These pencils are deliciously creamy and soft, but not at all messy, and they provide an amazing colour punch on the eyelids when you use them. There are a huge variety of colours available and I got my 6 on ebay for a euro or two each. When these first landed on my lap, I was absolutely obsessed with them- Milk was definitely my most used and as you can see from the pictures above, the lid took a bit of a beating at the time. Slate and Black Bean are amazing bases for smokey eyeshadows, as is Purple Velvet and Dark Brown. Sometimes, if I am working a smokey eye, I put some Milk on my inner third, some Pots & Pans in the middle and some Slate on the outer third, and blend them all into each other and set with eyeshadow. I have never used these on their own without topping up with eyeshadow but I imagine you could if you use a good primer underneath.
I am genuinely baffled that I could have forgotten about these because now that I have been reacquainted with them, I can see myself using them a heck of a lot more.
I would completely wholeheartedly recommend these pencils to anyone- particularly Milk. They are absolutely foolproof and are worth every cent and make sure to check out ebay sellers in the States if you are buying a few!
Are there any items in your makeup stash that you have been neglecting? I'd be glad to know that I'm not the only user and abuser!
