A few weeks ago on Twitter, in the midst of one of our Monday night group chats (if you miss that, tune into twitter from 8.30-9.30 every Monday night for girly beauty chat), I mentioned that we should have an SBBC wrapup party and Irish beauty blogger meetup on the same day as the Professional Beauty Show in Dublin, which is on in the RDS. I volunteered to put the wheels in motion and organise, and I am happy to report today that I have some news and developments in that regard!!
Firstly, if you are living under a rock and not already aware, the Professional Beauty Show will be held in Dublin on 6th/7th October this year, and you can find all the details HERE or if you want to attend on the day, CLICK THIS LINK IF YOU WOULD LIKE FREE ENTRY TO THE PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY SHOW. The show will be open on Sunday from 10am-6pm and if it is anything like the Irish Beauty Show in March, I am sure it will be a really enjoyable and informative day.
Next- the question on everybody's lips for our meetup- the venue. I am absolutely delighted to announce that the venue for the meetup in the Russell Court Hotel (aka Diceys Garden and Krystle) on Harcourt Street in Dublin 2. This venue is absolutely ideal for us because it's in a great central location in Dublin- easily accessible from the RDS, it's near enough to public transport links for people leaving Dublin that evening, and we will have a private room and bar to ourselves so we will have space and be able to mingle easily (esp if we have shopping bags from the show!)
I have made sure that there are some *amazeballs* drinks promotions- I'm talking €2 pints, bottles (beer, alcopops, West Coast Cooler, Kopparberg etc) and J-bombs, and there is also a cocktail menu with all the usual favourites available for €6.50 a pop (think Cosmo, Mojito, Sex on the Beach,
Appletini, Margehrita, Tequila Sunrise etc etc). AND If you get hungry from all that cheap liquor, there will be a BBQ in the garden area of the venue that evening and if you feel like a sneaky burger etc, that will only set you back €2 also. AND if that's not enough, there are special food promotions laid on for us until 10pm that night, including sirloin steak, veg stir fry, chicken or beef burger, chicken curry with rice or chips for a bargainous €5!
In terms of the night itself, as I mentioned there will be demos and speakers and I am very grateful to these people for entertaining us.I will confirm the line up in due course. There will also be some goodies on the night for attendees (so make sure to tell me below in the comments that you are coming along or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org).
I am very very excited to annouce that we will also be running a charity raffle, with the proceeds going to the Irish Cancer Society. As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and seeing as how a bunch of us ladies will be getting together, I think it would be the ideal opportunity to support a good cause and buy some raffle tickets and be in with a chance of winning some amazing raffle prizes! The Irish Cancer Society is a charity very close to my heart because I have seen first hand the work they do in supporting fighters and their families but also raising awareness and encouraging health promotion. In the last few years, both my aunt and my grandmother lost their battles with cancer, and I am sure everybody has been touched by it at some stage. I have had some amazing raffle prize offers already and I am very touched by the generosity and goodwill of so many. I will have raffle tickets on the night so make sure to come and see me and we will raise some badly needed funds for a great cause and give something back.
Lastly, I have been in contact with some businesses and PR companies during the week about organising raffle prizes and goodie bags and I am blown away by the response of many. I will be doing a huge shout out to all of our supporters and contributors once we have a final list, and I strongly encourage you all to do the same because these guys are not only supporting the Irish beauty blogging community but also a very worthy charity.
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me- on my email address (email@example.com), Twitter (@totalmakeupadd) or on Facebook (facebook.com/totalmakeupaddict).
If you are a company/business or PR agency and you are interested in getting touch re distributing product samples/ goodie bags or donating raffle prizes, please contact me on my email address and we can discuss same.
So that's it guys, the stage is set! We will wrap up #SBBC in style, those of us who are already friends will catch up again, and those of us who have not yet met will get a chance to do so. There are no specific invites, all beauty bloggers are welcome, and I am hoping that we will get a good turn out of a Sunday evening!
If you want to come along on the night, let me know in the comments below! Hope you are as looking forward to it as I am! I'll keep you posted on any further developments and the days roll on so keep yours eyes peeled! x
