I'm back with a new look blog and a Beauty Blogger tag!

Hi everybody,

Apologies again for lack of postage but I am now fresh as a daisy after recuperating from my last batch of brutal law exams and I am looking forward to striving ahead and working on my blog to make it the best it can possibly be. I marked this new chapter with a brand new look blog- please let me know what you think in the comments box below- and I must say, it feels nice to change things up a bit!

This tag is courtesy of the lovely Nina (check out hers here) and she tagged everybody to do it and I thought it would be a fun way to ease myself back into blogging after my leave of absence during exam season! I love tags, finding out things I have in common with people, and just giving people a little insight into how I go about my business, and I reckoned it was time for a bit of sharing and caring!

Now Nina has already tagged everybody so you've all been tagged anyways but if this is something you would like to do and you're now sure whether you have been tagged or not, let me assure you, you have been DOUBLE tagged! :) :)

Here goes!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Curly, wavy frizzy mess! When I get out of the shower, I can barely get a Tangle Teezer through my mane. My dad says I look like an 80s rocker when I don’t brush my hair out after a shower. I also have several cows licks and whatnots. My hair is abnormally thick- full head highlights take hours!

2. What is your natural hair colour?
Dark Brown (I KNOW!)

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
Salon all the way- would never chance giving myself highlights at home. I get my highlights done and a cut once a month. My natural hair colour is very dark so it’s hard to maintain the blonde.

4. How often do you wash your hair?
Every day pretty much or every other day at the very least.

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?
I try to change it up as much as I can- for a casual day at home, I will just put some product in to make it less frizzy and leave it curly/wavy. For work, I either straighten, use heated rollers, Sleep In rollers for softer effect, take my hot styling brush to it, sometimes I plait it or tie it up depending on what suit I am wearing or how much work I have in the office (generally if I am in court that day, I like to have my hair up)

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I have only gotten my nails done professionally maybe three times at a salon coming up to debs and balls etc, I had gel nails done, and they were lovely, but left my nails in bits. Also, the technician had to give me a French Manicure effect style because my natural nail beds were too small for the tips- I don’t bite my nails at all, I just have small hands and small nail beds.  I hate my feet, I never ever wear sandals or flip flops, so I would never ever have a pedicure.

7. How often to you change your nail polish?
Once/twice/three times a week- depends on if it chips (I personally cannot abide chipped nails, it would bug me to the death) and what outfits I want to wear.

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?
I never ever paint my toenails!

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?
For work, maybe 20 mins. Daytime- maybe 10 mins. Nights out involving false eyelashes…at least half an hour!

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
After toning and moisturising, I use undereye concealer, conceal any blemishes, foundation, contour, eye base, eye colour, eyeliner, false lashes, mascara. Then prime lips, lipliner, lipstick and/or gloss. Then blush and highlight and voila!

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
Oh I collect- I have a million different versions of the same thing but I cannot fight the seduction once something else catches my eye. I have more makeup than I know what to do with at this stage, and I try desperately (and inevitably fail abysmally) to shop my stash instead of succumbing to the voices in my head that tell me I really actually NEED the latest Urban Decay palette or MAC Limited Edition lipstick… I am weak goddammit, WEAK!

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I ADORE false lashes but I don’t get to try them half as much as I would like! I love a simple thick black lashes/ red lip look for a night out. I have gotten better at applying them over the years and I usually go for natural styles to supplement what I already have instead of any dramatic lashes (feathers and the like!). I have yet to master individual lashes but I have every intention of eventually getting around to it!

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?
I don’t ever really intend on wearing a full face of makeup everyday but many weeks it just kind of works out like that- I work Monday-Friday and often meet people and do things at the weekends. I don’t have a good relationship with BB creams but I do try to wear less makeup from time to time to give my skin a break. Also, if I am in for the night, I take off every bit of my makeup to let my skin breathe.

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?
Home alone- very rarely, unless I am going out. When I am with family, it just depends on the occasion- for a family party or whatever, I will obviously wear a full face of makeup, if I am hanging out with my boyfriend, I’ll wear makeup but if I am just hanging around my house with the dogs, I pretty much would just throw on a smidge of mascara and lipbalm and that would do the trick.

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Sure. I like to wear makeup, I like to instantly feel more presentable, but I don’t think I am that hideous a la Quasimodo that I have to hide away when my face is naked!

16. How many high end products do you have?
I have quite a bit actually- loads of MAC, Make Up for Ever, Urban Decay, Christian Dior, Lancome, Nars, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Benefit, Inglot, YSL, Chanel. I do love drugstore cosmetics and dupes but sometimes I firmly believe you have to shell out an extra few beans to get a really outstanding product.

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
I wash my foundation brushes once or twice a week, and any other brush gets washed as I see fit. I am a clean freak when it comes to brushes, the thought of dirty clogged brushes makes me feel queasy. I have a monthly clean of all brushes, whether I use them or not, and I have a lot of brushes! There is something deeply satisfying about seeing a row of squeaky clean brushes laid out to dry!

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
I plan my work outfit every night for the following day- only because it involves ironing. If I am going out, I will have an outfit picked, but if I am just hanging around at home or going shopping, I wouldn’t bother fishing anything out of my wardrobes until I am getting dressed that morning.

19. How often do you change your handbag?
Four/five times a week! I coordinate my bags with my outfits!

20. What time do you get up & go to sleep?
Even though I am a night owl most of the time, I’ve recently gotten myself into a very good habit of going to bed early and setting my alarm at a reasonable hour. The last few weeks, I’ve been tucked up in bed at 10.30 every night and I set my alarm for 7 every morning, so I get a mammoth 8.5 hours sleep every night!!

21. How often & when do you workout?
I don’t work out, I hardly ever have the time, actually I am too lazy to make the time! I would love to get into a routine so now with the summer around the corner and work normalising,  I will look into getting organised.

22. Left-handed or Right-handed?
I’m a righty!

23. How tall are you?
5ft on the dot. I used to be 4ft11.5 for years but I sprouted an extra half inch. I’m a midget.

24. Do you speak a foreign language?
If Irish is foreign, I pretty much achieved fluency in that. I spent several months working and living in France and I was pretty much fluent when I came back home, but I fear I have lost much of that now. I also learned German and Japanese for three years so I think I have a pretty good working knowledge of them!

25. How many pets do you have?
I don’t have any pets in Dublin unfortunately but at home in Cork, we have two dogs, a Jack Russell called Jack and a German Shepherd called Alfie.

26. How often are you on Blogger?
I love to read posts on the Luas on my way into work every morning, whenever I have a chance, I love catching up on my blogs, but shamefully, I might not get a chance for a few days depending on my workload.

27. Do you read the comments posted blogs?
Of course, if people go to the effort of commenting, I like to reply. It might take me a while but I will get around to it eventually!

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Oh yes, most of the time, Youtube or blogs make me lust after something and I can’t rest or sleep until those items are in my possession!

29. How did you come up with your blog name?
I am addicted to makeup and I was so shocked that the name had not been taken already that I swiftly claimed it as my own!

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
A Canon Powershot SX150

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)
I keep my apartment clean so I don’t actually have to clean it very often, I have a hoovering/floor washing spree once every fortnight or so.

32. What is your favorite colour?
Pink

33. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?
Every month I religiously read U Magazine, Stellar, Tatler, Prudence, Cosmopolitan and Glamour. I love them all!

34. Do you swear?
I try not to and I strongly dislike swearing but from time to time a naughty word slips out.

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Well it’s almost bedtime for me so my nighttime skincare routine and bed beckons!

Thanks so much for reading and thanks again to Nina for coming up with such a fun tag!

Ciao for now!
