Huge makeup/ hair haul

Hi everybody!

Again, sorry for lack of posts of late but I am trying really hard to get myself organised for Dublin- can't believe I am starting my new job this coming Tuesday! Scary but exhilarating!

Anyways, I went on a bit of a spending spree over the last two days, as a new month means the end of my self imposed May makeup ban (I don't know why I do this to myself either!!). I made the pilgrimage to Limerick to get my hair done by my favourite hairdresser, and she did a great job as always, and whenever I make the pilgrimage to Limerick, I always pop into Superdrug to pick up a few bits because we don't have any Superdrugs in Cork (boo!).

I had to lay my hands on the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer because the beauty blogosphere just seems to love this product! I chose the shade 'Fair' and I said I would try the foundation too whilst I was there in 'Ivory', I am always searching for a HG drugstore foundation. I also picked up the new 17 Miracle Matt powder in 'Natural Fair' as I had a 17 pressed powder a while back and I really liked it. I got two Natural Collection blushes in 'Pink Cloud' and 'Peach Melba' and a bronzing powder in 'Sun Shine'. I had a €7.50 voucher for No 7 so I got a Limited Edition 'Summer of Dreams' bronzer which only set me back €10. To be honest, I probably would not have gotten this is I didn't have the voucher because I think No 7 cosmetics are overrated and overpriced as they are, but the vouchers make it hard to resist picking up an item or two (or 5 in my case!)

I also picked up some Essence French Manicure Guides because I thought these would help me achieve a flawless salon look- these are most definitely an avoid product in my opinion. The adhesive is too strong and not once or twice but three times did these little stickers rip the nail polish off my nail- nail polish which I was satisfied had dried sufficiently. Too much trouble! I found an LA Colors display in a pharmacy in Limerick and even though I have been trying to steer clear of my hot pinks, I picked out this one, Electric Charge, because it really caught my eye. I got another Essence nude offering in '04 Iced Latte' and I adore this as far as nude nails go, it's a great colour, great product, and a Catrice Prismatic Effects Top Coat and I love the effect this has when layered over another colour.

I got a matte cream shadow from Natural Collection in 'Sea Shell', the new Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Gel Cream Eyeshadow in '55 Immortal Charcoal' and the pigmentation on this baby is extreme to say the least, I think this will make an amazing base colour for a really dramatic smoky eye. I got the waterproof Get Big Lashes mascara by Essence because I quite like Essence mascaras and I understand the waterproof ones are amazing for holding a curl and that's something I want to do a bit more. I also got a new Essence white eyeliner pencil for my inner corners in '04 White'

I picked up a few office appropriate lip glosses- Natural Collection Juicy Lips in 'Sherbet Fizz', Catrice Lip Appeal in '020 First Kiss', Essence XXXL Nudes in '03 Nude Kiss'. I got another Revlon Lip Butter in '090 Sweet Tart' and the pigmentation on this one is great, two lipsticks from Rimmel Kate Moss Collection in 01 and 05, a No 7 Wild Volume Lipstick in '15 Forever Cherry' (again I used a €7.50 voucher because I wouldn't pay €14 for a No 7 lippie) and a Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in 'Rose Bud'.

In Sam McCauley's Chemist, they were offering 3 for 2 on NYC Cosmetics so I got 2 Blushable Cream Sticks in 'Big Apple Blush' and 'Plaza Pink' and a Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette in '968 Cupcakes and Coffee'.

I got a huge tin of Batiste Dry Shampoo in 'Blush' even though I don't need it at the moment because my highlights were freshly done just yesterday. I always use a purple shampoo for colour maintenance of my highlights- to stop them going brassy and yellow (purple counteracts yellow) and my L'Oreal Shine Blonde is almost gone so I got the John Frieda set to keep me going in the interim until I make my next order from Gorgeous Shop. I also got the Full Repair Deep Conditioner by John Frieda because it promises to revive overstyled hair. I have probably mentioned before that I have very sensitive skin and have to be careful of alot of very perfumed shower gels and the like, so I got a natural coconut and shea butter shower creme to keep me going, there is just something so deeply satisfying about smelling like a coconut on a fine summers day I find.

So I ended up with a few more No 7 vouchers so instead of picking out some of their makeup, I said I would try out skincare because I have seen some reviews of this in various magazines and blogs and it wasn't slated. I got the Soft and Soothed Cleanser and Toner for Normal/Dry Skin because my skin has been terribly dry over the last few weeks and this might help, they were only an extra €3 or something with the vouchers and you get nice, big 200 ml bottles. I also picked up the Beautiful Skin  Melting Gel Cleanser after being persuaded by the sales lady (AND she gave me a voucher especially so it only cost a few yoyos). She tried this out in the shop for me- it goes on your face like oil but as soon as you add water it gets milky and it's meant to be the business for removing makeup so we will see how that goes!

So that's all from me today, hope this was somewhat interesting! If you'd like to see a particular review of anything, let me know, I will get around to reviewing them all eventually but there might be something on your shopping list and I can let ye know how I got on before you part with the sheckles!

As always, thanks for reading!
Toodles!
